Zanesville, Ohio is located 50 miles from Columbus. It was named one of Ohio's best hometowns by Ohio Magazine in 2011. Amelia Earhart called Zanesville "the most recognizable city in the country" because of the Y Bridge. The first Y bridge in Zanesville was built in 1814 and was made of wooden trestles, stone, logs, and planks. It is also known as the "Pottery Capital of the World" because of its large number of pottery manufacturers
